What are ‘FLAP’ Histology Slide Labels? (In 100 Words or Less)

In order to address some common problems our customers were experiencing, Computype’s engineers developed the ‘FLAP’ label.

FLAP is an acronym for Flexible Lamination After Printing—referring to the fact that one side of the label is a clear plastic with a release liner on the back. The release liner is removed once the barcode is printed and the clear laminate can be flattened over the image.

The laminate layer, unique to our FLAP labels protects the printed label image from damage caused by exposure to reagents and staining chemicals common in slide processing.
