An industrial quality printer to keep up with your high throughput analysis processes
A few factors combine to make the ZT series printers ideal for research and diagnostic labs and sample storage settings, including their high resolution print quality, high-volume printing capabilities and RFID options.
As sample sizes continue to shrink, so do labels and barcodes in an effort to accommodate smaller containers. In situations where small barcodes are necessary, upgrading to 600 dpi image resolution is crucial to ensuring readability in downstream automated processes.
With the range of ZT printers comes a range of volume capabilities, but overall the ZT series is a better fit for higher volume printing than smaller desktop counterparts.
The range of options within the ZT label printer series allows you to choose the most suitable print volume model for your facility, whether you’re printing tens or thousands of labels a day.
The RFID capabilities of the ZT 400 series and ZT 600 series introduce unique opportunities to track samples in real time and keep personal patient information secure.
A stripped down industrial model that offers all the power at an economical price-point.

This printer is the premium model within the ZT series, meaning it’s ideal for high-volume, heavy-duty environments where it will face harsh conditions and high demand.
Check out the Zebra ZD series, a desktop print solution perfect for lower volume sample labeling applications. It’s compact size and range of resolution options among other features provide research and diagnostics facilities with an array of low volume options.
We offer a range of tube and vial label options to accommodate almost any laboratory processes. From the autoclave to liquid nitrogen, DMSO to acetone, straight to conical we offer a range of standard and custom tube and vial labeling options to suit your needs.
As a series, Zebra ZT printers range in cost depending on several factors, the major ones being model, width capacity, print resolution and optional features.
A range of standard and custom microwell plate labeling options are available from Computype to accommodate both standard plates and more custom applications.
As a series, Zebra ZT printers range in cost depending on several factors, the major ones being model, width capacity, print resolution and optional features.
The model you end up going with will affect your overall cost greatly, whether you choose a ZT 210, a ZT 421 or a ZT 620 will make all the difference! This is primarily because these printers offer very different feature sets that appeal to very different facilities.
A smaller facility might benefit from the stripped down ZT 200 series (or even a ZD series printer), where-as a larger facility might find a ZT 421 or ZT 610 would be a better match.
Here are the starting prices for each of the 3 levels of the ZT series:
ZT 200 Series: $980+
ZT 400 Series: $1,700+
ZT 600 Series: $2,800+
Once you’ve chosen your model, you still have options. One decision you’ll still have to make is which width option best suits your needs. In nearly all laboratory applications the ZT series’ standard 4 inch capacity is the most suitable option, however, if your facility requires a 6 inch capacity you can expect to spend a bit more for the necessary accommodations.
In addition to the width capacity, models vary in their dpi capabilities. Different parts are required to achieve different levels of resolution—this typically translates as, the higher the dpi, the higher the cost.
When small scale barcodes need printing high dpi is absolutely necessary, but in many cases a lower to moderate dpi is suitable. If your facility is working with extremely small tubes and vials you will probably want to invest in a 600 dpi model, however if you’re utilising microwell plates or more moderately sized tubes standard 203-300 dpi resolution should get the job done.
The ZT series offers several optional features that might not offer value to everyone—hence, why they are optional. Choosing to add an optional feature, such as a peeler or RFID encoding abilities, will add to your overall cost. This is why it’s so important to ensure any additional features will offer value to your facility in return.
