Second Harvest Food Drive
22 February, 2018 - St. Paul, MN USA
Starting the year off on a charitable note, the St. Paul Computype Employee Engagement team hosted a food drive through Second Harvest Foundation the week of January 24th. During this week, employees split into 6 teams and sparked a little friendly competition to see who could collect the most food to donate to a local food shelf in Roseville, MN.
“We are very grateful for our community, and we want to do our part to be of help to those in need” said Lisa Sarvie, Computype’s Employee Engagement Leader. Computype felt as if there was no better way to kick off 2018 than giving back to their local community.
In the duration of this week, Computype came together as a community of their own to bring in as much food as possible. The results of this food drive were very showing of that; about 150 Computype employees were able to collect and gather 3,824.45 pounds of food within the week. Roseville locals will be able to visit these food shelves and collect food for them and their families.
The winning team, which collected 1,398 pounds of food, received a catered lunch and dessert and celebrated the amount of food and help they were able to offer to the community. This was a huge accomplishment to the team and the Roseville food shelf was very grateful. “This is so great, we never get deliveries like this, especially following the holiday season.” said the food shelf director. The efforts of Computype’s employees were able to make a large impact in the food shelf and those that rely on the organization to feed their families.
